The fourth day of the AMUSE Erasmus+ project study visit was both inspiring and full of meaningful experiences.
In the morning, the team split into two groups to visit two specialised educational institutions in Amsterdam:
- Drostenburg School – a comprehensive child center and special education school for children with physical and multiple disabilities.
- Koetsveld School – a special primary education school dedicated to creating supportive and inclusive learning environments.
Afterward, participants gathered at Bijzonder Amsterdams, a unique social enterprise café of Cordaan, which employs people with special needs. Here, the group learned about inclusive education practices, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) in action, and enjoyed a warm lunch prepared and served with incredible care.
The day continued with an inclusive walking tour through Amsterdam, offering new perspectives on accessibility and inclusion in urban spaces. Some participants also had the opportunity to visit Cordaan’s social enterprise initiatives.
In the evening, the group returned to Utrecht for the certificate ceremony at Hogeschool Utrecht – University of Applied Sciences, with closing remarks from Professors Saskia Wijsbroek and Sofie Sergeant, followed by informal networking over drinks and snacks.
Another day of learning, exchange, and inspiration on the road to more inclusive education across Europe!
