An exciting study visit of Ukrainian educators to the Netherlands has begun.
It is aimed at learning the knowledge and exchanging experience in the field of inclusive education. The delegation of Ukrainian experts from Uman, Kharkiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne and Sumy set out to explore the best European practices, particularly in the use of augmentative and alternative communication methods.
The first day proved to be extremely eventful and inspiring. The participants visited special education school DKP in Utrecht, where they were warmly welcomed by teachers, inclusion specialists, and students.
The participants were impressed by the modern organization of the educational environment, the openness of the staff, and the warmth with which barrier-free conditions are created for the development of every child.
Special admiration was sparked by innovative solutions in alternative communication, progressive teaching methods, and the atmosphere of mutual respect and support that prevails at the school. Communication with the students and staff brought many bright emotions, new ideas, and confidence that implementing such practices in Ukraine will be a powerful step toward greater accessibility and quality of inclusive education.
